Okay, some of you will sigh if they read the title. And certainly I'm the one hundred millionth user on DA who writes a journal about Twilight. But don't roll your eyes. I'm not infected with the Twilight virus, definitely not.
Recently, I bought the first volume in China because at that time I needed a book, simply something to read. I had heard a lot about Twilight, good and bad things. But I didn't know the book and so I decided to buy it which I still don't regret because it cost me only 5,60 €, so not much money I spent.
When I started reading I read it very fast. I don't think it was the story that captured me but simply because I desperately wanted to read something. But after a while I stopped because on the one hand the story became quite boring and because on the other hand I was busy at that time. During my flight back I started reading again. After reading 3/4 of the book I was somehow relieved to find some action would occur. Before that the relationship between Bella and Edward slowly developed. Very slowly. Bella! Edward! Bella! Edward! Bella! Edward! Edward, the noble vampire who doesn't want to hurt Bella. Bella, the fearless girl who, different to her ordinary class mates, has found the love of her life...Not to mention stupid Bella doing stupid things, sometimes only moaning and complaining until you yourself can't read it any longer. Are teenagers really that dumb?

The following 1/4. Bella and Edward were finally a couple and finally something unexpected would happen. James suddenly appeared. James suddenly died. WTF? That was what I felt after reading Bella's encounter with him. Uh oh, suddenly three vampires are appearing of whom one wants to suck at Bella. Uh. Because Bella is sooooo intelligent he needed to perform an even more intelligent trick with a video and a TV to catch her. After producing hot air and posing (yeah, it's the old mistake evil guys still do, loosing too many time with talking and showing off so the heroes can come and save their loved one's lives) Edward the sparkling vampire comes to save Bella's life. After a dramatic fight (One kick of Buffy and James would have been dust) the evil vampire is killed, Bella is saved and she and Edward can go to the ball and everyone's happy, yeah!

Yesterday I watched the film. It's not good but still better than the book. The development in the film is faster but that doesn't improve the quality. Bella who walks through life with sleepy eyes and a half-opened mouth and Edward whose facial expression only changes from a sheepish grin to an evil look and back. Evil James who looks as evil as a guinea pig. Carlisle the vampire-Ken. Not to mention Rosalie who looks too old IMO. Only Alice was really nice and cute, one of the few positive facets in this film.

Maybe I'm really too old to watch and read this... Twilight is just as good as fan fiction. It's a book for teens, young ones, those which you can find under "13+" in libraries, not more.
