Well, I don't know where to start. Not only the concert was wonderful but also the whole time I spend in Frankfurt. I've never been to Frankfurt before. But I don't wanna bore you with details. Me and my friends spend a wonderful evening with eating and drinking before we went to bed early. A stressful day was ahead of us (As for me I was never to a "right" DM concert before, but Rock am Ring 2006 where a lot of people weren't DM fans. And I never had rocked the first row of such a big concert before, so I was really excited what was coming).
Okay, so we got up early, between 7 and 8 am, took our breakfast and drove to the stadium. It was around 9 am when we arrived there and about 10 fans already had gathered at the FOS entrance. The waiting began...
Shortly before the entrance was opened there was a brief moment of thrill when the security told us that only one of the two entrances we had occupied would be opened. Luckily he was nice enough to allow us to change the entrance. Then the moment came when it was opened, our tickets were validated and we ran and ran. Luckily in Frankfurt everything was relaxed and we easily reached the corner cat walk/stage on the right side. I'm really thankful that everything went well unlike Berlin and Leipzig where it must have been much more stressful as I've heard.
After one hour and a half the French supporting act "M83" started to play. The music was nice and and I liked it but when you're waiting for DM you just think something like, okay, guys, that's it, your music is nice but now it's enough. They played until 8.20 pm and then the waiting became almost unbearable.
And then the red "DM" appeared on the big bowl, rotating, and the crowd in the stadium started to scream. Did I mention that I'm turning into a teenager standing in the first row at a DM concert? From our position we could see straight through the black curtains and first we could see Martin and then Dave. He was laughing and one time he jumped up and down. Sooo adorable! They were encouraging each other and then Mart, Andy, Peter and Chris entered the stage. We were screaming like hell. "In chains" had begun and it was such a magic moment! Finally Dave appeared and when he started singing I hardly could believe it was true. 3 years after Rock am Ring I was again at a DM concert, this time in the first row. I simply couldn't believe my luck.
On the one hand I was fascinated by Dave on the other hand I was fascinated by the big video screen. When Dave danced in front of us (and luckily he often preferred the right side of the stage) and was shaking his hips oh my God! Seeing all the photos of the last tour and the first ones of the SotU tour and now he was standing in person in front of me...
I could start yearning now. "Wrong", a powerful and intense song! Everytime the screen was lightened red. His entry during "It's no good" was too early but it was too cute! There's a video on Youtube where you can watch that. Of course, "A question of time" and the famous-infamous grab, Geeez!!!!!!!
Dave singing "Precious" while the screen with the wonderful poem of Hafiz appeared. I took photos like crazy and I think this screen's the most beautiful one.
Martin singing "A question of lust" (this is the song which caused me to become a DM fan, btw). He was somehow shy, not in the right mood at the beginning but it became better during the show. Some people were lighting sparklers. He entered the cat walk and it was somehow magical... His pants were really tight He bent forward and his ass...whoaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!
A special moment was during "Peace". Dave animated the audience to sing "...will come to me". I've heard in Berlin the audience first hadn't understand his intention. In Frankfurt everyone immediately knew what to do. It was soooo great!!!! Dave conducting the crowd and there was this secret agreement between him and us, he singing "Peace..." and us singing "...will come to me". Maybe THE moment where the connection between him and us could be felt the strongest. Dave was standing on the stage and listening, awwwwwww!!!!
"Policy of truth" with ballons in the background and sexy hip shaking in the foreground mixed with airing trousers. Some of the fans let ballons fly. Unfortunately only a few ones.
"Enjoy the silence" and Dave introducued the band and Chris and Peter. Really, this man is soo sexy!! Only the big camera on the right side was a bit disturbing, but hey, he was shaking his hips right in front of us. I was like dying XDDD And the video was so great, the three in astronaut's getup hahaha!!!!!
"Never let me down again" - what else can I say? Everybody waving his arms - time stood still. Then the band left the stage but only temporarily. The noise of the masses spoke for itself.
"I feel you" - wow!!!!!!!!!!
I was curious because of the "Strangelove" video screen. Unfortunately part of it was censored but it didn't matter. "Strangelove" was great!
I wish I got the video of "Personal Jesus". Not the official one but the concert video. On the stage was the real Dave, singing and dancing. On the screen was also sexy Dave! Oh poor me...
And then, sadly, the ending. "Waiting for the night"...I was speachless. Later my friend told me my eyes had been sparkling then. But her eyes had been too... We were really moved.
What can I say now? The concert was like a whole timeless experience for me. Timeless, yes, time stood still and I was so happy!!! After leaving the stage it had seemed for a moment as if the band was returning to the stage but sadly helpers came instead and began to take it down. We left the stadium and outside I bought a little blinking pin. Unfortunately there weren't any tour cups but hey, Düsseldorf... I drank a beer, really it tasted so good! We went back to the hotel and I was like flying on a cloud!
Thank you for this concert, you guys!!!
